On October 5th, 2006, in Warsaw during the Infrastruktura 2006 International Fairs, the competition of the Minister of Transportation was adjudicated in four categories: Roads, Materials for Highway Engineering, Road Traffic, and Construction Equipment and Machinery. Slag Recycling participated in the competition and won the main award for its metallurgical and syenite grits for mineral-asphalt mixtures used in SMA pavements. The organisers of the competition emphasised the very good parameters of Slag Recyclings grits, which have a significant effect on safety and a shorter braking distance.
The awards ceremony took place in the Lecture Theatre of the Warsaw University of Technology.
During the Autostrada 2006 International Fairs, a competition in which Slag Recycling received an award for its “Aggregates for road dehydration systems and hydrotechnical applications” was adjudicated. The organisers of the competition emphasised, in particular, the filtration properties of Slag Recycling”s aggregates that make them ideal for removing excess water. This feature has a large influence on the durability of constructed roads.
